Dundee is in my heart. Always will be. The Dundee skyline means so much to me.

“Dundee has always been a place that has held my heart. This city, with it’s many discoveries, both personally, and in the greater world, is a BEAUTY, and I am so glad I am lucky enough to have called it home.

When I was little, Dundee was the ‘John Menzies’ where we collected Star Wars figures and My Little Pony toys. The Olympia swimming pool. The bridges, across the Tay and across the roads.

As I grew up, it became ‘The Dandy’. The comic that arrived on our kitchen table each Friday. Desperate Dan, Dennis and Gnasher and Minnie the Minx.

Then… a place we visited my brother. HIS university and art school. HIS student flats. Fleeting lunchtime meals on Saturdays in pubs and cafes as a family.

Then it was the place of promise I hoped would mean art school for me… which came true. A place of joy, of friendships, of art and music, gigs, dancing, loves and laughs, and a fair few pints with friends.

Now… I drive the Tay Bridge, from my home in Fife, to care for Dundee’s animals as my ‘other’ job as a vet nurse. Across the Tay Bridge with Dundee’s Law Hill smiling back at me.

Always though, for me, Dundee will be the tiny blackbird that always sat atop the gable end parapets of our flat. Woke us up with his song as the mornings broke each day… and serenaded us to sleep each evening… a totem… a guardian.

All Will Be Well, he always seemed to sing. A comfort and a hope. All… Will… Be… Well!

This year, more than any, we need to believe his song to be so. His words. His tune. As THIS particular year draws to a close… let his whistle ring out in our HEARTS, with that hope.

Printed on 319gsm Hahnemühle Fine Art German etching paper. A4 in size, 29.7 x 21 cm.

This print is signed and dated in pencil on the front and titled on the rear. It will come unframed.

It will be packaged on heavy cardboard and wrapped in biodegradable clear envelope for protection, before being packaged into a firm corrugated cardboard envelope for postage.
